Catch it exactly where you did last year going north, and just keep going. It will connect you back up just a bit south of Tequila. I understand there isn't any fuel along the route, at least yet.

Here's what I sent you last year: The guad bypass is fabulous! It takes off at about km marker 467, and is labeled Chapala Cuota. The big sign said Libramiento Guadalajara, north of the giant Continental tire.

We are leaving sometime late this month. When do you plan to go?

We are excited to hear of this Guadalajara Bypass as we travel back and forth to California several times a year. When you say you take off at KM 467 do you mean from 15D. Thank you for any further advise you may have for this route.

Yes, that is from 15D going north. The southern half was open in March 2017 and was great. The northern part opened in December, we just missed it on our way down.

You literally skip all of Guadalajara! On the western side, you are even beyond the airport.

The Tepic and Mazatlan bypasses have been open for a couple of years and are also great things.

If you are going to California, we'll assume you exit at Sonoyta/Lukeville. If so, message me, the "checkout" facility east of Caborca has closed, and there is a new one closer in. I'll send you a link to a video of the new facility.
