High Side of Zih

Although we don't have seasons like northern temperate zones, nevertheless we have changes that we are accustomed to. With the end of the tourist season we have more time to get out and visit friends. The streets are mostly empty so there are no crowds anywhere except our local rush hours to drop off and pick up schoolkids as well as our 2:00 lunch and siesta. We see friends and go to places we haven't seen or visited for months. Our slow pace of life returns and many of us heave a collective sigh. If only it weren't election year with all the campaign crap going on, but that's only a minor inconvenience for most of us.

The days are getting hotter, the nights a little warmer, and the sun shifts to beat down on the northern side of our homes instead of the southern side. The smokiness continues to build little by little, and the hurricane season begins in another month. Rains are predicted to be more intense, and the storms are predicted to be stronger. Can't hardly wait... :-o

So we continue to follow our philosophy of enjoying each day to the fullest because you can't count on tomorrow.

Soon most of the garzas will again be gone back to their summer homes up north. But here was one crowning himself king of the lamppost on the pier during the morning.
