5/23/18 Mexico Daily News cites April 18 federal statistics for the claim that Zihuatanejo ranks second in Mexico after Tecoman, Colima in Mexico for the highest number of homicides per 100,000 people.
What is the true story ?

what is happening on the ground to develop a real municipal police force for Zihua?

While I understand many of these occurrences are contained to those involved, the escalating presence of lawlessness and disregard for human life are stripping the community of its charm and attractiveness. So sad. I hope order is soon restored.

We love and miss Zihuatanejo. We are praying for a resolution to this horrible situation. We hope the horribly bad peoples can be driven away. Please everyone, be safe.
