We are trying to make our first purchase on Amazon.mx, and it appears not to be able to accept a US credit card. Does anyone know if that is true?

We know you can't use a US credit card to make a purchase at Sam's Club online. At the store, yes, online, no.

I buy from amazon.com.mx and ship to Ixtapa at least a few times each year. They always accept my US card (Visa). The first time I made a purchase, it did not go through because it triggered a fraud alert on my Visa. Once I authorized the payment, it went through with the next try. No problems since that time. Good luck!

Success! First they wanted a copy of a current statement showing that it was our card. Then, after rejecting that, he wrote them a note explaining why it was US address, and it looks like it worked!

Wine cooler on the way!

I have made many purchases from Amazon.mx using my US Bank of America Alaska Airlines visa (they don't charge a foreign exchange rate fee on purchases in pesos).

I am an Amazon Prime member so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Amazon Mexico started kind of slow, but it has gotten much better over the last year with many more offerings at good prices.

Also, for prime members, many items from Amazon US will ship to Zihua for free but do take 5-9 business days.
