I'd like to darken the colors of the Message Board's background and make the text white because I find it easier to read that way for myself. Maybe something like a dark burnt sienna or deep chocolate-red, mahogany or deep burgundy. Thoughts?

Please don't take offense but it's a little diaper-like. Personally, I like something more like #847c79
That's just me. Good luck.

Oops....that's what you've got now.

For me I cannot read white font easily and even in your example it wiggles. This link has good info:

I appreciate you taking the time to post the article, I see no scientific data, just opinion. As someone who has spent the past 20 years looking at white webpages with black text I have to say that in spite of professional opinions to the contrary, they are damaging to the eye, especially with all the new bright flatscreen monitors including mobile devices. Just like snow blindness, and they cause permanent damage according to recent data. Personally I have to wear orange-ltinted glasses to read webpages with white or bright pages. I’m trying to mitigate the damage until companies make more eye-friendly monitors.

at this point I bet most of us use cheaters, now days you can buy cheaters with a slight yellow tint and a reflective coating that protect against blue light and the eyestrain caused by it. Yes they are as little more expensive , but hey the more expensive ones dont distort either.

Good idea. As our eyes age and we spend more time on our computers, I like the white letters. I'm partial to the dark chocolate red, but anything is better!

It's your Board and ultimately your choice but I, too, generally find it easier to see dark letters on a light background. Black on light grey works too. I suspect it has something to do with my older eyes' pupils diminished ability to dilate and constrict rapidly.

How about

How about bringing your website into the 20th century and making it easier to post pictures. EXAMPLE: Copy and paste.

Just mentioned the split opinions on your suggested changes to my IT son. He says lots of sites give the user options. Sounds like that might be a major change to your programming. (?)

I have no problem with the current colors. What color would the post title change to once it's been read?

Okay, well it's looking like No Change it will be because I don't want to make things more difficult for already strained eyes like OlsenMN and Gringo Viejo. Just thought I would throw this out there.

Thanks, Rob, for asking. Since I am now in my eighth decade, I, also, find it more difficult to read white type on a dark background unless the type is large and line width is brief.

I've worked in the communications field for more than 40 years and appreciate your openness to change and to value others' thoughts.

Altona Stu and Midalake brought up some good points Rob...many sites give you options for colour/fonts/etc so maybe this is something to look into that would work for you and the rest of the viewers...and finding a way to add pics by simply copy and paste would be huge as I for one have been posting on my Facebook page all my Zihua trips pics now for a few years because of the simplicity...

Facebook can afford the servers to allow folks to post their photos, but I can’t and I have that option turned off in the configuration settings for my Message Board. Photos can be uploaded to numerous other services including Face and shared from there.

As to the colors, the Message Board User Profiles allow for selecting different themes so I’ll see if I can get something set up.

Bring on a few more ad's, a little less of this :smoking: and we could all post pictures with a 75kb limit. I have had so many requests to post pictures and of course it will never happen. This website is missing a big mark by not allowing that type of sharing.
