Heads Up West Coast Alaska Airlines Fliers....

by DTinPDX, Monday, September 10, 2018, 20:51 (10 days ago)

Been checking the schedules to Zih lately and it appears that 1-day connections from Seattle or Portland via Los Angeles "disappear" starting about January 29 and new schedules will require an overnight in LAX. Per an Alaska reservation agent there are no scheduled changes during the tourist high season. So those of you with current reservations in this time period or wanting to book need to complain as quickly and loudly to Alaska as you can!

Bummer, I hope this changes in March. Is the change due to staffing issues or the need to get staff thru customs at LAX before customs closes at the regular arrival terminal?

This is a real bummer, I hope they add it back in.

I did some playing around with dates and they apparently still have these short flights on Mondays after the January cut off. Looked at Monday February 11th for example. A good alternative is American Airlines flights through Phoenix.

Thanks for the heads up. I just noticed that they moved up our February flights from LAX by 30 to 40 minutes. However, this works out better for us since it gives us more time to get through customs and immigration on our way back to Denver.

Anyway Alaska has some great lower fares to Zihua especially if you catch one of their sales
