Shop owners are getting their businesses ready for the upcoming season after many spent the past month or two closed for lack of business. This is the month when Zihuatanejo seems to come out of hibernation and looks hungrily for visitors to replenish its economy depleted from several months of slow sales.

Dorado are biting and we enjoyed some mouthwatering fillets at Joacquín's La Porteña yesterday just as the rain let up and the sun came out. I kept expecting to see an arcoiris but never located one.

Elva is back selling her wares early in the morning at the pier in case anyone is looking for her delicious bolillos y café de la olla, especially if you're going fishing.

Turtles continue laying and hatching, and early morning exercisers often spot them when they hatch and help them to reach the water safely. If you feel something squirming in the sand around your feet under your table or chair at the beach don't stomp on it. It could be a hatchling.

This was from a few days ago. One of those perfect mornings we enjoy so many of during this time of year.

This is from early this morning. The sand is still wet and dark from yesterday's rains, and the turtle tracks I'm looking at are barely visible, but the bay and beach looked great since it didn't seem to rain hard enough to cause much runoff, so there was hardly any garbage. Lots of bait fish in the bay.

Great pictures again Rob! And I do enjoy these bolillos but it appears I am never up early enough for them as a friend had to get some for me at the mercado as I never find any during the day. What can I say! I am not a morning person. I was actually eating that on my flight home last year...
