Volaris is offering on Sunday Jan 13 $229 direct from OHare to "Z". Lv 7:46am Ar 12.54. Before they offered direct from Midway to Morelia- looks like they still do. This promotion popped up when leaving Hot mail. It looks like they have started Sunday flights only.

Be careful! We took advantage of that offer last June, for our return flight.
Direct from Zihuatanejo back to Ohare..... one week into our trip, I received an email that it was cancelled, no reason, no refund or apology given. After a big hassle over the phone, the only flight option home with Volaris was an 8 hour layover in Mexico City and two days earlier than our original flight.

We have direct r/t tickets using air miles on United in January. I was just surprised when I saw the promotion. A few years ago when getting off our United Flight in Morelia they were boarding the plane to Midway- first time had seen or heard of them. We use United Air Miles as often as we can- for us the best deal especially the Saturday direct r/t from O'Hare.

I flew Volaris last year the week before Christmas from Chicago O’hare to Zihuatanejo round trip.
The flight to Zihuatanejo was direct.
I was surprised that the plane wasn’t even three quarters full. I had one row of seats to myself.
On the return to Chicago in February the plane was just about full.
I would definitely fly Volaris again.
This year I’m flying direct on United as I didn’t see Volaris flying to Zihuatanejo when I purchased my ticket in September.

I’m a bit annoyed. We used Volaris twice last year and were very happy. But this year, when I checked the Chicago-Zihuatanejo connection was listed with no times. I called their customer service and was told there was no flight and I would have do separate flights (not just a single connecting ticket) through Mexico City. So I booked United.

Sure enough, I get the promotion from Volaris. Direct flight. $$$ less. Volaris is great when it works.
