Oh Happy Zih!

We are still enjoying refreshingly cool nights where snuggling under a bedsheet is still enjoyable for those of us who sleep with our windows open listening to the ocean. But any day now we should get a warm humid wind from the south that changes all that, so enjoy the coolness while it lasts. We certainly are. Soon the air will be so heavy that it will seem fans are unable to push it, and then comes the smoke from the burning of tlacolols for planting crops on hillsides. We've already seen a couple of recent burnings in Zihuatanejo, but those have been by land invaders seeking to steal public lands. The tlacololeros will soon turn the skies brown with smoke that lasts until the rains begin usually in late May or early June. If you have breathing issues, May can be an extremely difficult month.

Mil gracias to Tina and Ellen for the donated clothing. María del Rosario and her precious daughter are extremely grateful for the much needed items they received.
