Café con Zih

While many schools in many parts of central and southern Mexico remain closed due to the contingencia ambiental caused by all the smoke from hundreds of fires, Zihuatanejo remains an oasis in paradise. Our schools remain open and our populace can continue to enjoy the outdoors without any problem. Even the mar de fondo has subsided and folks are able to enjoy Isla Ixtapa and Playa Las Gatas again.

Humidity and temps are slowly rising as the days go by, but we continue sleeping with only a fan set on low, and using a single light bedsheet to keep warm during the morning chill, though folks not from the tropics may not feel any chill at all. For example, for us 27°C is where many of us set our air conditioners, and anything under 20°C is cold.

This lovely family was extremely grateful and happy to receive donated glasses.

Plenty of smoke to our northeast made for an extremely red sunrise this morning.
