Hope all the dads enjoyed their day yesterday. I got pampered rotten. All around the town families were out celebrating, singing, dining and enjoying their time together, which is what Zihuatanejo is all about.

Still no further damages to report from yesterday's temblor. The dam held and Lázaro Cárdenas has not been washed into the sea... this time.

Popocatépetl let out a huge whoosh this morning that reached 4 or 5 kilómeters into the sky. Glad it's letting off pressure. Things were getting a little tense.

Looks like the last little part of the pier will get removed today. (Check out the Pier Webcam on my Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa Beaches page)

This photo is from yesterday afternoon. The workers keep working around the clock even though the heat and humidity yesterday were smothering. Not even the night shift got a break from it. And though the skies looked threatening at times, not a drop fell locally even though heavy rains had been predicted for the region. I eve had to water my plants yesterday!

Great pics Rob! Looking at the photo and seeing the remaining pylons, one can appreciate just how far the old pier went out.
