Probable last trip to Zihua

by CorazonErrante, Tuesday, July 30, 2019, 16:38 (105 days ago)

Hola a todos....

I am planning what may turn out to be my last trip to Zihua. I am in Stage IV Liver Failure and we all know how that turns out without a transplant. Anyway, not trying to elicit sympathy, just more as a back story.

I am looking for somewhere that is not stairs dependent. I can walk for miles but stairs force me to look for another way up....

Any good leads on a nice place to stay that is more or less handicapped friendly?

Gracias...

Tanya

Hola Tanya. I hope we can help you enjoy this trip whether it's your last or not. Hopefully you'll get the transplant you need in time.

I'm guessing you want to be right on the beach in Zihuatanejo. I recommend one of the ground floor rooms at Bungalows Vepao or Casa Gloria María. They are right next door to each other on Playa La Ropa and within easy shuffling distance through the sandy beach to La Perla Restaurant. A good place to hang and eat.

Much strength to you!

Rob gave you 2 that are great suggestions. If they are full, there is also the Villa Mexicana right on the beach with first floor units.

Another excellent recommendation.

Just a few steps up the street from Villa Mexicana are Casa Iguana and Las Azucenas, both with ground floor rooms with no difficult elevations or stairs to negotiate.

Please look at Villas Miramar on Playa la Madera. They have ground floor garden rooms, flat and level to restaurant, bar (oceanview) and pools. Also walking distance to all the great restaurants on Calle Adelita and to el Centro, as well as easy access to the shoreline walkway Paseo de Pescador. Enjoy your vacation where ever you stay!

Never give up hope amigo, just hope that organ doesn't come while you're down enjoying Zihuatanejo :-) About a year ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer, and given no hope for getting better. After chemo and radiation failed, and it being non-operable, a last chance stab of immunotherapy has seemingly done the trick. Last two PET scans show the tumor shrinking. Doctor called me his immunotherapy miracle, as it almost never works on my type of cancer.

Miracles do happen!

I know the suggestions that others have made on La Ropa and agree with them. I've stayed at Villa Mexicana and Gloria Maria, and they are both excellent choices. Basically about the same room but Gloria has nice little kitchens on the patio. It can come in handy. Villa's rooms are just a tad larger but not so much that it makes a huge difference.

You guys are awesome!

There are really wonderful properties that were suggested.

I am going thru each one and wishing I was there right at this moment!!
