Heat and Hope in Zih

It was a hot night. My media naranja and I spent part of the evening on our azotea watching ominous looking storm clouds get so close we could smell the petrichor, only to see them dissipate into nothing without a drop of rain to water our plants or cool down the neighborhood. Even after a couple of caballitos of tequila and enjoying the soulful sounds of Otis Redding, sleep was slow in coming due to the heat.

Around 3:30 a.m. after tending to the arrival of water in our tinacos, opening and closing valves so our renters would have the precious liquid upon their arrival in the mañana, I lay in bed trying to decide if my breath was actually cooler than the air the fan was blowing on me. All of a sudden I could hear a powerful engine and see flashing hazard lights coming up the street from the direction of the museum. It was a huge truck bringing 4 more pilings for the pier. It was like watching a rocket being towed in a military parade. These pilings are massive! But in a few brief moments it was all over, the street was deserted and town was quiet again except for the soft crashing of the waves, a sound that I LOVE.

Of course we had to go check out the pilings at sunrise, and this is what we found.

What a beautiful way to start the day!

Hola
Rob great pics as always. Just wondering what you are using for these fabulous pics. Is it a phone camera or something else?. Do you photoshop these images or are they raw?

My trusty rusty iPhone SE and Photoshop to fix the clarity, the light, and to make the photos look like what I see. Sometimes I get a little artsy fartsy just for fun. Hope you don't mind.
