Abandoned kittens

by hromero ⌂ @, Friday, August 23, 2019, 11:29 (25 days ago)

On our morning walk today the dogs and I (ok it was really the dogs) found this box of abandoned kittens. They are very young (guessing between 3-4 weeks old) and still need soft food I believe. I reached out to SPAZ to see if they would take them and they told me that they cannot as they do not have space. We unfortunately do not have the space or the time to care for these little critters and so I am reaching out to the see if anyone local has the ability to take them and care for them.

Unfortunately it looks like someone saw the sucker sign and put those gatitos in your path on purpose. They are yours now. Welcome to the club. I recommend getting them sterilized ASAP. Cat food is cheap.

Or you can go feed them to the crocs in the estero. Aww, ¿verdad? :stirpot:

Bless you, Humberto. I wish we could do something to help you from here up north. Best of luck to those sweet little ones.

Thank you, through some additional communication and the help of some well placed connections I was able to arrange for space at SPAZ.

Those are going to be some very beautiful cats when they grow up. Hopefully they'll all find a good home.

Really glad to hear that. They are so overworked and underfunded and they still manage to work miracles every single day. I knew their mother, Doña Helene, and she would be so proud of her children and the extraordinary work they continue doing.

I was able to click on the SPAZ website and donate some money within about 10 seconds. Come on folks - let's all give to the these amazing and kind and life-saving people who do so much for the littlest of creatures.

Thank you, Humberto, for taking the first steps in saving the little guys lives. We stay at Villa San Sebastian every winter, so maybe my husband and I could buy you and your partner lunch on La Ropa one day??

Went to the bank, which asked many silly questions - to keep the Feds happy, they said, and informed me that if the transfer was rejected for any reason, I'd be charged fees. Next, I went to Western Union, who informed me that they don't send money to banks. Checked the SPAZ website, clicked on "donate" and got all the instructions in Spanish. I guess I'll be making a cash donation when I return in December.

Amigo, after clicking on DONATE if you can't figure out the extremely simple Spanish (AMOUNT, METHOD OF PAYMENT), you can select your language in the LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER of the page.
