The newest post I could find was from 2016, any insight on 2-3 inch high density foam toppers? Upholsterer best option??

If you can't find exactly what you are looking for, do consider a new mattress. They are much less expensive here in Mexico, especially during Buen Fin (sorry, last weekend) and if you talk to the person from whom you are renting, there is a decent chance that he/she will consider sharing the cost with you, or possibly even replacing the existing mattress for you.
A great night's sleep is very important!

We use those 2 inche sheets under two large throw rugs as our exercise area.
Nothing we could sleep on.
Admittedly, we bought a really nice, memory foam topped king mattress last year and LOVE it!

Thank you everybody for your help. Today I checked all places suggested and the shop across from Yolandas I believe will be my friends best choice. Although two pieces will be required for a king bed and unless they want to go Mercadiolibre should help a lot.

Mega has those waffle top foam mattress toppers which are good if you just want a little more comfort
