Hi All, Can anyone recommend somewhere to rent paddle boards. Don't need lessons, just would like to rent boards so I don't have to bring with me! Thank you.

We paddle literally every day off of Playa la Ropa. We have our own boards.

The going rate is 200p per hour. An hour is very loosely interpreted, it's basically until your paddle is done, within reason.

We have had friends that were here for an extended period who negotiated for long term daily rentals for less, but it's still such a deal, why barter?

If you are really into it, you might want to check the boards that are available at all of the rental places until you find what you want. The choices are diverse, and entertaining. The paddles suck.

It's wonderful. Today, we had more rays to see than we have ever seen in the past, three different kinds, and it was spectacular.

Have a wonderful time and watch for us!

Jose Luis is in front of Sotavento, sets up by 6am

They three great guys in front of Paty's set up at 6am

Eddie is in front of The Thompson, sets up about 9am

Raul is in front of La Perla and sets up about 9am

All good people, same rates, but the boards vary, depending upon what you want we suggest you stroll along your first afternoon and see who has what.

We are morning people, and are usually on the water by 7:30 at the latest. Flat water, much cooler, much less boat traffic.

There are a few rental stands along playa la Ropa. Each probably within 150 yards of eachother. As TallyHo said, the paddles aren't great. If you have a travel paddle you like, you might consider packing it. Early mornings are a nice time for a paddle with less traffic on the water. The rental stands set up pretty early.

Consider using Jose Luis's operation on Playa la Ropa - a nice fellow to deal with.

He also rents out kayaks, snorkel equipment, body boards, skimboards, etc.

He is located in front of the Hotel Sotavento.

You and I ought to go out paddle boarding some morning amigo. If I ever get back to Z that is. We'd be a sight to see!

It would be --- especially for the people heading for higher ground as Archimedes Principle kicks into effect as we clamber onto the paddle boards.;-)
