(Rob, I'm not finding this info on the site -- maybe just not seeing the obvious?)
Anyone gone to one of the big, Mexican fiesta productions over in Ixtapa? (Barcelo?) Is it worth seeing or a rip-off? Approx cost? Any ideas for a better large-scale production?

We had them every week when I worked at the Sheraton. The Barceló still has them. Several hotels do. They are terrific cultural experiences if you’re looking for entertainment. I hope everyone goes at least once.

¡Olé! :vivamexico:

We attended one years ago at Dorado Pacifico and it was very entertaining. This was before the Sunscape brand was added and it became an all inclusive. Don't know if they still have or not.

There are acts Friday and Saturday nights at Park Royal. You will need to understand Spanish to get the full enjoyment of that show.

No clue as to the cost of either these days.

EMBARC had a fairly low-key, but entertaining "Mexican Fiesta Night" at least once a week last season, (Tuesdays?) and I believe they do so this year as well. There was no extra charge, just have dinner down near the pool level at their reasonably-priced restaurant. We enjoyed it, had cochinita pibil.

Pacifica has one every Monday evening. They have entertainment and sometime gets the guest involved. Crossing the bridge, they have peddlers set up selling all types of trinkets. We had eatened at another restaurant and went down to it for we had a hour wait for our transportation back to Grand. We were glad we went to it- the time really slipped by(had not been to it for over 5 years and normally we are not in Ixtapa on Monday nights). I don't know if they open it to the public or not.
