Question for Rob

It is my understanding that Zihua has been at a Level 4 travel advisory for some time.... maybe since 2018? We have been coming to Troncones for 16 years multiple times during the year every year. Now with the travel advisory at a level 4 for all of Mexico.... will we be denied entry into Mexico? American is still going forward with their schedules without any cancelled flight for the future. Any help with be nice. Thanks.

I believe that’s up to the airlines at the tine you plan to visit. The level 4 warning is a U.S. State Department decision which seens quité arbitrary and especially without merit when the Hot Zone is thr USA, not Mexico.

Based on the number of cases in the US according to the extremely limited testing done there, the State Dep’t restricting gringos from travelling is doing Mexico a favour.

But that's not the way it's being portrayed by the Liar-in-Chief or his Faux News. They continue acting like Mexicans and refugees are the plague, and the cult followers just applaud and shout "Merka first!" like he just personally saved their lives. Rather sickening.

If Mexico is wise, Mexico will ban us for the duration. We are the invaders bringing disease.

If you can pass the health control filters then you are welcome here. Mexico is banning no one.

My wife and oldest son flew in today on United. Only 7 total people on the flight. No issues at all. Thank you to all who responded and hope this virus passes quickly to get back to normal.

Walking through the streets surrounding the mercado today, it is very much "business as usual": crowded, smelly, noisy, full of life. Not a face mask in sight.
Are locals ignorant of the situation facing much of the world? Is it Mexican fatalism? Do locals believe the line that the virus can't survive the heat and humidity? Quien sabe? Why are locals so damned happy?
We leave this evening for our small city in British Columbia where, even at the best of times, the streets are almost deserted and life is oh so quiet. Now, with everyone staying home, it'll be even duller.
