Maybe so, but while I'm waiting to turn back into stardust, I'll be enjoying me some Stones with all the fixins.

As I look at my photos of Troncones I was thinking,

“Don't it always seem to go
“That you don't know what you've got til its gone”

The difference is, that since buying in Troncones I have always known what I’ve got. And it isn’t actually gone, it just feels farther away right now.

I've had to watch as one place after another where I've lived gets overbuilt and ruined in the name of tourism. The condos and time shares are usually the final nails in the coffin. There they sit all along the coast of Florida mostly empty right now same as here in Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa. Island after island along Florida's coasts were ruined by them, killing wildlife habitats and blocking views for anyone not on the beach. It's just a matter of time until La Ropa, Playa Larga and Playa Blanca are full of them, too.

You have been back in California for about two weeks now.

It would be interesting to hear your thoughts about being there versus being here.

Do you miss being in our paradise? The beach, your girlfriend, the slower life here? Ready to sell there and stay here?

Curious, but not yellow, but with the beaches closed, incredibly white!

a few chuckles first...and then...

I was hoping I would not like being back in Ojai...but as you know Ojai truly is one of the great areas in America...
And I feel good here...
However...I have come back to a weighty financial/investment issue which I got wind of a few days just before I left Z
No need to go into details...but just to say because of my personality I have "sunk my teeth" into it and it has been the main focus of the past 2 weeks.
I have had a meeting with some realtors to get oriented to the market...not ready to push the sell button...but I would do it...could do it...and very likely will do it...the sense of adventure a major life move offers is exciting...
My thought is to be back in Z in October for a couple of reasons.
I think 4 months is a good length to be away- to see how my condo fares in my absense...
My life is not grossly different here than in Z- and of course Covid flattens out everything
I want to get an e-bike while I'm here so I don't slump to being an Internet office desk potato...

Never been to Ojai. Really no desire to visit California. Can you imagine that?

Know all kinds of communities. I’m in heaven here. Hope you find your “nirvana”.

Excerpt from Z Rob's post---->

"Really no desire to visit California."

There is my home state, specifically "So-Cal", though I haven't spent more than a few months total there over the past 20 years.

Back in the late 60's through most of the 70's, the "North County" coastal area had "mellow" small town beach communities such as Leucadia, Encinitas, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, strethcing a bit more south, to Solana Beach and the ritzy "Del Mar" beach community, was a VERY cool place to live.
Loads of Mexican food places to eat as well, several of which were operated by people from the abundant Mexican community in that area.

For surfers, Cardiff reef, Pipes, Swamies, Stone Steps, Beacon's & Grand View, were good to excellent surf spots.

THOSE were the days B-)

Oh, & good Stones clip selection (All Down the Line) with Mick Taylor playing "bottleneck" on his Les Paul.:jam:

All the leaves are Brown and the sky is gray.
I been on a walk on a winters day.

California is a great state. It drives the country and takes a blind man to not notice it. 40 million people is a county in most places and with such diversity between people and environment, it has everything to offer. FYI, I do not live there nor do I plan to, but I do admire how they handle such a wide range of people and problems. From the Rain Forests up north to Death Valley, from the farmers and ranchers to the High Tech of the Sil Valley, and Hollywood. From Tesla to JPL in Pasadena. And lets not forget the "California Rasins" Sorry, I heard that one through the Grapevine.
