Zihuatanejo has so far registered 55 confirmed cases of the virus, and there have been 6 confirmed deaths to date. I understand things are a bit rough at the Hospital General since it serves as the major hospital for much of the Costa Grande, now converted to the region's only Covid-19 capable facility. and it was already outdated and stretched beyond its capacity before all this started. Thanks mostly to Coca-Cola, many of our medical institutions were already overrun with patients, and those folks at the moment have nowhere to go. My respects to our local doctors and nurses on the front lines of this health emergency.

Sure thought it was going to rain this morning. The eastern sky awoke dark and gloomy, but after a while nothing happened.

There are some water distribution problems as the main holding tank that supplies much of downtown Zihuatanejo needed repairs. CAPAZ sent us a pipa today, which was very courteous of them.

Pretty much everyone the world over is concerned about what's happening in the USA as the struggle for "racial" equality continues. It seems the USA spent so much time over the decades telling everyone else how to run their affairs it neglected to take care of its own.

With all our deficiencies and backwardness and shortcomings, there is nowhere else I would rather be than right here with mi Santa Mujer, mi Sirena Dorada, mi Media Naranja, mi Mejor-No-Hay, mi Vida, mi Mango de Don Fernando, mi Guadalupe. It ain't easy being the luckiest gringo in Mexico. B-)
