Guerrero remains in Semáforo Naranja for the time being, and the beaches remain open, but hotels are only allowed to have 30% capacity. Pues algo es algo.

The beach rules in effect say beachgoers need to remain 4 meters apart, no eating on the beach, no alcoholic beverages on the beach, no beach chairs or umbrellas, and groups are restricted to a maximum of three people together at a time.

Saw several groups of tourists this morning. In one group of about 8 people at the zócalo no one had a mask on. In another group of about 15 people apparently just off the bus, more than half were wearing facemasks.

If we don't bring down the transmission rate, the gobernador will close us down again, so folks need to speak up when they see someone not wearing a facemask in public.

Up here, confronting folks who are not masked has led to several ugly incidents. I would urge caution.

We had that experience three times recently here in Zihua. We won't ask for distance from the people near us again. Best just to walk away. Once it was a Fireman and it was ugly and the other two times the response was "no pasa nada".

I have on multiple occasions simply said "La sana distancia por favor" with a smile. It has worked most of the time but about 20% of the time the people or person has looked at me blankly as if I was a weirdo. Thankfully we haven't had any ugly incidents.

Does that mean places like Paty's or La Perla are not open? Or are they not considered to be on the beach?

I don't know about Paty's, but La Perla is open. I have no idea if they can serve alcohol. I'm going to guess they can. But their bar isn't supposed to be able to operate as a bar, and you shouldn't be leaning on bars anyway right now.

And does Paty have her umbrellas, tables, chairs and lounge chairs set-up as usual? Meals available?

We do the dogs at 6am, paddle about 7:30, then swim. We are back home by about 9. Things that go on after that are told to us by reliable sources, photos posted, and messages sent.

We know that El Manglar, la Arena, El Pirata, Rossy's, and Paty's are open for food and drink and El Pirata had music last weekend. La Perla is open for at least beer, likely food.

Since chairs and umbrellas are not allowed on the beach at this time, I sincerely doubt that La Perla has the rentals available in front. The other locations have their dining tables and umbrellas in the regular places, well spread.

Not sure how many people know that the current queen of España, La Reina Letizia, had a romance with Fer of Maná. Several of their songs give me the impression they are dedicated to her.
