As of today Zihuatanejo has registered 293 total confirmed cases of Covid-19, 167 of who have recovered and 44 who died.

We're certainly hoping the local authorities will get stricter with folks who aren't wearing facemasks, but without having to physically interact with them since that is something Dr. Hugo López-Gatell does not want happening as it will only increase the exposure and spread of the virus. They have my approval to use rubber bullets. That ought to get the attention of the maskless folks, the Covidiots.

Barra de Potosí remains locked up and fenced in until sometime in September. Seems a bit hysterical to me.

More fishermen are back to work as restaurants begin opening up. Weekenders began arriving yesterday, but they aren't out and about much since there isn't much open. The Mercado de Artesanía "La Marina" has decided not to open yet. I suspect that's a wise move on their part. The mercado municipal seems to be one of the places where lots of folks are getting exposed to the virus. We wash everything that comes from any store.

Apparently someone misinterpreted my comment about Mexicans being concerned about receiving Statesiders as meaning that gringos weren't welcome. Most of the world is concerned about receiving Statesiders, but our local lodging operators and restaurants feel that they can do their jobs and minimize the risks. Of course we hope all our visitors will practice safe hygiene and stay home if they are ill. But everyone is certainly welcome in Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa and Troncones.

Copied that photo. It captures the exact memories of mornings there all but the breeze and crash of waves. Thanks much Rob. We have booked our flights and condo for December for 10 days. Hope everyone will be safe in Zihua and use the precautions that are recommended, wear a mask and keep your distance. Our thoughts have been with our friends we have made in Zihua and know that they are struggling. Stay safe Hasta Pronto

Thanks for the kind feedback, Grumpy. I'm never sure how my photos look on other machines because I have to dim my computer's monitor for my eyes, and though I try to compensate when I "develop" a photo to make it look like what I actually saw when the photo was taken, I'm still always amazed when they look okay on other people's monitors.

Have you tried f.lux? It's an app that dims the screen automatically, or on demand, and takes a lot of the blue light out, which relaxes the eyes. It takes some getting used to but I really like it.

Thanks for the tip, Jay. I'll check it out.
