Well, here I am back in Canada ( just over a month now) after 8 flight cancellations. If there was 1 more, I was just going to say fkit I'm stayin! Flight home was OK .only thing I didn't like was having to overnight in LA. ,but was very surprised at how deserted it was there. Wasn't too happy Westjet decided to fill the plane but all went well.
Now here I am trying to figure out my next plan. I look at the covid situation ,comparing Zihua and here in Sask. The way I see it the cases (per capita) are about equal. Iwas surprised when I got home there were no mandetory face covering rules for public establishments YET! (soon will be ,we'll get used to it just like we do in Ixtapa.)
So I said to myself ,Should I stay or should I go So yesterday I cancelled my return trip in Oct.
Then today ,I rebooked it for a month earlier.Kind of a milk run ,but no overnighters in the US.
Did I mention, I really miss Zihua?B-)

Thanks for your post, Brian. It’s been a while since I’ve read a trip report like yours. Not one meal mentioned. Ha! But I still feel the love. Good job, amigo.

Way to go Brian, I'm sure happy for you and wish I could do the same but will have to be happy with your original flight in October. We will be there on Oct 31 and I am so looking forward to it

I, too, would love to get back to Zihua. I've been thinking (always dangerous) about what you said about numbers per capita.
I'm thinking that while the numbers might be similar, but the geography is not.
When Rob updates the numbers in Zihua, it is only for the Zihuatanejo area which might be about 100 sq kms ( Rob might clarify for us) while your numbers are for the entire province of Saskatchewan, which is 651,900 square kms.
I'm thinking this means that population density plays a role in here as well, when trying to determine one's safety plan. Th majority of cases here now are from large parties and gatherings, restaurants, bars and shops.
I'm sure some other thinkers here will let us know.

In Washington they look at new cases per 100,000 for the past two weeks. Prior to moving to what they call Phase 2 our case count was 22 per 100,000. About 6 weeks ago we moved to phase 2. Our current case count per 100,000 is 142. Not quite a 7 time increase. We can’t go to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Washington DC or Hawaii without a 2 week quarantine upon arrival. In addition no one from the USA is welcome in Europe right now. It is strongly suggested, but apparently not being enforced, that travel to both Canada and Mexico is for “essential purposes” only. It is felt that our surge in cases is primarily due to not following the guidelines for masks and social distancing at restaurants, bars and beaches.

No, folks from USA not welcome north of the border, either. And they have been cracking down on those who tell porkies about going straight thru to Alaska or their 'essential' reasons. The fines are quite hefty.
Am I right in my thinking about the density issue? If you had 100,000 people, with 50 of them Covid positive, in a 10 sq km(or miles for some of you), compared to the same numbers spread over a 1000 sq km area, your chances of contracting the virus would be greater in the higher density area.
(I can hear my old jr high school math teacher laughing at me for not paying more attention in class!)

I would assume so, but really don’t know.

Those numbers as far as I've read are about all the cases in Zihua including all the people sent to Zihua as the other areas are overwhelmed or don't have facilities. :omg:

Maybe you will be home for a Canadian team winning the Cup? How long has it been? 1993. 27 years. Just think, Justin Bieber was born in 1994. Hum, The CURSE of the BIEBER.....
