As of today Zihuatanejo has experienced a cumulative total of 1,067 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 77 that resulted in fatalities, 908 that have recovered, and 13 that are currently active. It was announced today that next Monday Guerrero will become the second state in Mexico to go from Semáforo Naranja to Semáforo Amarillo due to the decrease in the proliferation of the virus in the state. It means hotels and restaurants will be able to receive more customers. It SHOULDN'T mean that bars can open back up, but we'll see how the state and the municipios interpret this change in our situations.

The Costa Grande took a serious blow from "Hernán". Many towns in our region from Buenavista to Pantla to Coacoyul to San Jeronimito to Petatlán suffered loss of crops, loss of cattle, flooded homes, washed out roads, broken bridges, power outages, and thousands of stories of property losses from water damage. Presidente López Obrador declared Guerrero a disaster area and has enacted emergency relief plans.

If it ain't one thing, it's another.

The Gober Precioso was also here today to inaugurar the beginning of the second stage of the remodeling of Paseo del Pescador. More tons of cement will replace our lovely beach, especially around the Cancha Municipal. I believe it to be not only a huge mistake but a tremendous waste of our tax money. And of course they will plant hundreds of more plants to die just like they did with the plants in the first stage of the remodeling. Every politician seems to want to disappear millions of pesos to "remodel" our waterfront. But the paving over of more beach is what I detest the most. #PobrePueblo

City workers were all up and down the beach and the street from the pier to Plaza Kioto sprucing up for the Gober's visit.
