Un OaZIHs en Un Paraíso

As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,181 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 84 that resulted in fatalities, 22 that are currently active, and 998 that have recovered. While things have slowed down, I expect we'll see a spike soon enough from the festivities and the reckless behavior of too many locals and tourists during this week and the last. Since the local government has apparently decided NOT to close the bars, I expect the spike will become a second wave locally. How bad remains to be seen.

After a warm humid morning, a light rain came at just the perfect time this afternoon and cooled things down nicely. Perfect for our siesta.

Tons of cement (not asphalt, are you kidding?) are being poured on Avenida Morelos causing traffic o be a mess. If you can avoid driving that street you will be much less stressed.

It looks like the Torneo de Pez Vela which was going to be held soon has been cancelled due to he Smáforo Naranja. I'm sure the fish are thrilled, but not so much the captains who were counting on it for some much needed income. Hey, you know you can still charter a boat just to go sightseeing. Fishing isn't obligatory, and truth be told, it's just as much fun. You can probably even get a discount on the charter for just going sightseeing. A day on the water here is always a day well spent when the weather is nice, which it almost always is.
