As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,221 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 84 that resulted in fatalities, 34 that are currently active, and 1,024 that have recovered. Things had been slowing down and still are, but the slowdown seems to have reached a turning point. If my predictions are correct, the coming days will see an increase in numbers. A shame really because most of the rest of Mexico is doing better, Chiapas and Campeche are due to move to Semáforo Verde next week meaning life will basically return to a cautious normal for them and schools will be able to open. Folks in Guerrero know that we will probably be returning to Semáforo Rojo in another week or so. The big question is what will our local governments do?

Today was a warm one. Hard to believe this is the peak of our hurricane season. Certainly not what we were all expecting. Though today was warm and humid, it was still an absolutely beautiful day all up and down this magical coast of Guerrero, La Costa Grande.

Turn that music up and dance! And if you understand the words, enjoy some ecstasy. What imagery! What poetry! ¡Viva!

I appreciate you keeping us informed on COVID numbers in the municipality.

A request:

Would it be possible, after each statistic, to indicate something like "....an increase (or decrease) of xx cases"? This addition would really help in understanding the local situation.

Yesterday was beautiful! We were out on the boat near Manzanillo, and loved watching it rain behind the huerta at Playa Larga near the airport. Blue sky overhead, rainbow on land. Not much fish, though, and it's raining in the mountains, because we were dodging lots of tree branches. I've got a great life here!
