As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,238 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 87 that resulted in fatalities, 1,034 that have recovered, and 38 that are currently active. It looks like the increase I predicted has begun while in most of the rest of Mexico the numbers are dropping. But this isn't just because of tourists since any increase in infected tourists would be reflected in their local communities where they reside, not here, though many were not using facemasks during the festivities a couple of weeks ago. Today most families of tourists I saw pass by were using facemasks, and there were quite a lot of tourists.

Last evening began quite warm and humid, but then a cool breeze came with a light rain that continued off and on throughout the night, still not enough to water our plants, but enough to cool things down. It looks like some cold fronts are pushing further south causing temps in the higher inland cities to start cooling.

A wonderful band of traditional local musicians played in the Plaza del Artista late yesterday afternoon. Someone was filming them, so hopefully the video will be made public. I'll try to keep an eye out for it.

A perfect beach day for our visitors.
