As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,293 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 91 that have resulted in fatalities, 59 that are currently active, and approximately 1,071 that have recovered. If my predictions hold then by the middle of next week we should see a spike, but so far I'm not seeing much more than an uptick. Nothing alarming. I do hope I'm wrong and that we don't see a spike from the festivities two weeks ago.

Locals continue working hard to be able to receive visitors. Facemasks, gel and even disinfectant mats for wiping feet off are found in many lodgings and restaurants as well as some stores and other businesses. I continue to be encouraged by the number of people I see taking the necessary safety precautions. Businesses continue opening up, and tourists continue arriving. Life isn't anywhere near normal, but I guess this is the temporary normal until vaccines are distributed among the general population.
