As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,294 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 92 that resulted in fatalities, 59 that are currently active, and approximately 1,081 that have recovered. Still no spike.

There are a lot of tourists here now. Truly surprising to see the beaches full of people. One friend reported that a lot of them weren't wearing masks, but the group I saw sprawled on the the ciclopista by La Madera were partially wearing facemasks even though they were blocking all the morning walkers, joggers and cyclists. The tourists mostly appear to be folks from the tour buses, and they tend to bring everything with them, but the government will still pat itself on the back and laud all the warm bodies as evidence of some successful plan of theirs. Yeah, right. While the tourists are most definitely welcome, speaking as a local in the biz, we need folks that will spend more money than these tourists in order to sustain our population. Tour bus tourism doesn't even come remotely close.

It's awfully strange to have seen September come and go with some nice rains towards the beginning of the month, but only one storm of significance that only caused us minor inconveniences. Today there was hardly a cloud in the sky. Plenty of sunshine, though. Just another lovely day in paradise!

Lots of our local smaller lodgings are perfect places to escape to for those desiring to come back to LIFE but who are wary of crowded places. Please see the reliable and comfortable places I recommend here in my website.
