As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,393 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 102 that resulted in fatalities, 45 that are currently active, and approximately 1,163 that have recovered. There seems to be a slump in the bump. Most of us here continue wearing masks, staying at home and respecting health safety protocols.

Although we still don't have many tourists, more shops are opening up. Many go to extremes to maintain safe distancing, some have trays you must walk through to disinfect your shoes. Gel and facemasks everywhere, plastic windows to keep customers and cashiers from breathing on each other even though cash must be handled. There simply isn't all the controversy here like we hear about up north of the border about complying with health safety protocols. People are getting ready for tourists, so I sure hope you'll oblige them. ;-)

Still no rain. It's been several weeks now with barely a couple of sprinkles. Quite unusual. The hills will be brown by December if this keeps up.

It's good to see the families enjoying themselves and relaxing at the beach. The good thing about our beaches is they have plenty of room for social distancing. B-)

Thank you for that great photo, Rob! Playa la Madera is my very favorite beach in Zihuatanejo. The meseros at Restaurant Valeria all know me and treat me like a king. (The food is not so great but I sit under a palapa and order papaya licuados and jump in the bay.) I usually stay at Bungalows La Madera with a phenomenal view of the bay. I can't wait to come back! Maybe in November!
