As of today Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,443 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (same as yesterday), 104 that have resulted in fatalities, 52 that are currently active, and approximately 1,205 that have recovered. The bump seems to have flattened out. Guerrero will remain under the Semáforo Naranja for at least another two weeks. Although our cemeteries are to remain closed, unfortunately even the local government is sponsoring a costume competition aka a party, and in a relatively small plaza, which I find contradictory and unhelpful.

Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour tonight and to enjoy the extra hour in the morning. For those of you here, remember this will offset your favorite TV programs from the USA and Canada by an hour until they change their clocks, whenever that is.

If you're planning your vacation and looking for lodging, see my personal recommendations for reliable lodgings that don't belong to unscrupulous people.

We UnitedStaters change to standard time next week. I remember crossing the border into Tijuana several years ago in the spring after we in the States had already switched to daylight savings time but Mexico had not. We gained an hour but lost it when we came back. Very disorienting.

Many of the border crossing towns in Mexico switch at the same time as the US, ie: CD. Juarez, TJ, Nuevo Laredo etc. What can mess us people up that mingle on both sides is when you roam on cell phone providers like Telcel they will assign the time of the the rest of Mexico regardless if you're in one of the aforementioned.

Personally I wish they would do away with daylight savings time in both countries. I remember growing up when my mother had a tendency to run 5-10 minutes late for things. So all the clocks in the house were set 10 minutes fast to correct her tardiness.

Any one that works in IT especially processing data centers knows what a huge headache time changes are.

For a truly disorienting experience take a coast to coast red eye on the day DST starts and change planes in Phoenix.

Aren't there a few places Arizona where the reservations follow Daylight Savings Time while the rest of Arizona does not. On one side of a street it's 5 pm and the other side of the street it is 4 pm. Now that would be really disorienting!

I've always thought we should split the difference between Standard and Daylight times on the half hour and leave it there. But I suppose it would be an IT and diplomatic nightmare.

You are most welcome! I fell in love with steel drums and calypso music when I lived on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. And I think Andy Narell is one of the very best.

Absolutely! Love the pon bands. Amazing the variety of sound they get from the end of a 55 gallon barrel.
