Last night I went to my VERY favorite restaurant, & there are so many I love. Rob, I am surprised you don’t have it on your list!
Abby, the owner is wonderful, & nowadays takes care of everything with 1 cook. He goes out each morning & catches his own fish. I had a delicious garlic & butter fish fillet, Margarita (he makes each one separately , adds a little Quantro) & homemade Key lime pie— all for about $11 US. Unbelievable! Sadly, I was his only customer at that time. If you go, you won’t be disappointed!
agreed. Abelardo does a great job. He was the bartender when we had opening night for Casa Amarilla about 15 years ago.

El Perla Negra
My husband and I agree completely. This has been our "go to" restaurant for years. We celebrate birthdays and anniversaries there every year. The food is exceptional.......totally fresh. Abby will do just about anything to keep you happy. We have been using his carry-out options almost nightly when we choose to stay home. Our second vaccination shot will be administered to us in one more week. Our bags are being packed. Abby, "here we come".

We have been enjoying his food for many years and taking many guests of ours there and never a bad meal. This year while we were in Zihua we made it a point to go to El Perla Negra once a week. Never once were we disappointed. We too were the only diners each time.

I always found the name interesting. Some say La Perla Negra, while others say El Perla Negra. Makes you wonder if that pearl is a male or a female.

Love his food. Pirate salad, fish with cilantro. Pasta Alfredo.

Might you be confusing EL PERLA NEGRA in Colonia La Madera with LA PERLA at Playa La Ropa?
