As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 1,976 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (6 more than yesterday), 155 that have resulted in fatalities, 54 that are currently active, and approximately 1,640 that have recovered. While the apparent decline here continues, almost everyone here now knows multiple people who have died from the virus.

Refreshing breezes continue coming from the sierra in the evenings, making for excellent sleeping weather. The whales are here much to the delight of everyone. For those who are here or planning on visiting soon, I highly recommend taking advantage of the several charter services who offer whalewatching tours. It is always an unforgettable experience to witness these majestic giants.
