As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,033 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (5 more than yesterday), 159 that have resulted in fatalities, 42 that are currently active, and approximately 1,698 that have recovered. Let's hope we don't see another spike after this past weekend. A lot of people showed up here Saturday and Sunday. Playa Linda was saturated yesterday afternoon, and inexpensive downtown restaurants were pretty busy last night.

Still no phone calls or news about when locals over 60 will get their vaccinations. The process started this week in many communities throughout Mexico, though the snowstorms and power outages in the northern states caused cancellations and other problems.

Today is International Childhood Cancer Day. If you can, please make a donation to the Hospital Infantil Teletón de Oncología in Querétaro where our grandson is by clicking on the link, or donate to the institute of your choice.

Businesses are folding right and left for lack of customers. Only Oxxo, inexpensive restaurants and economy lodgings that let you sleep ten to a room seem to be making any money from the busloads of tourists that arrive. It's pretty disheartening to witness.

Morning at Playa La Madera.

¡Gracias! He's responding well to treatment. Missing him a lot! Only about 29 more weeks of treatment (he's been there since last July).

SO glad to hear!

We have hesitated to ask, because no news is good news, maybe????

You two holding up well with their two dogs in your lives???

One mostly blind chihuahua and another half-blind poodle-mutt dog who's not quite right in the head (might've been from getting hit by a car) pose some odd challenges for us, but they're family, and every day is a labor of love. Caring for them is about all we can do to help our daughter and grandson for the moment. Roof cats and blind dogs. What a household!

Thanks for asking. Waiting for vaccines and a semblance of normalcy to return. Then I may need some psychedelics and heavy doses of Jimi Hendrix and the Stones just to get back to "normal".
:peace:

Bummed the Prada Cup is cancelled tonight due to a Covid-19 alert in Auckland. :-(

I have gotten my thrills with the Vendee Globe: https://www.vendeeglobe.org/en/web-tv

OMG I had to ration myself to one weekly recap a day so they would last longer. Don't know how I'll wait 4 more years.

This from someone who does not own a TV, follow sports, and all that jazz. I am SO hooked!!!!

You two are great granddog parents, it's important for Raulito. Keep up the good fight!!!

When things are relatively under control, we'll have to do "stuff."
