As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,085 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (10 more than yesterday), 165 that have resulted in fatalities, 49 that are currently active, and approximately 1,738 that have recovered. Lookin' good.

Almost everyone local in Zihuatanejo seems to be using facemasks now, some wear them more correctly than others, but the numbers are impressive for a town of so many humble people. ¡Muy buen trabajo, zankas! ¡Adelante!

Did anyone go to the mezcal festival in Troncones? How was it? A shame no one thought to promote it here. Might've attracted a few more people.

Did I mention our perfect weather? Lived in the tropics most of my life and I never tire of the perfect weather. Don't miss the snow. Don't miss the cold. Anything under 17°C and I stay under the covers until the sun warms things up.
:brilliant:

If you're making vacation plans, please consider sending your deposits for lodgings and tours to help them get by these lean times. It's sad to see how many businesses and services are closing because they just can't hold out any longer from the lack of tourists with the purchasing power we need for our tourism dependent community. The busloads of tourists bring very little business for most shops and lodgings and spend very little on anything other than food and drinks, much of which they bring with them or buy at Oxxo.
