I'm headed to Oaxaca city over Day of the Dead for some more work on my Spanish. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel near the zócalo for a two-week stay?

We have stayed at Hotel Marques del Valle the past 4 years. It is located at the Zocalo and is a basic and clean hotel. Can get loud and festive on weekend evenings.

We stayed years ago at Hotel de la Parra. Small, cozy, and close enough to Zocalo.

My husband and I stayed at a bed and breakfast, La Betulia. Within walking distance of everything, super-nice hosts and awesome breakfasts.

A few years ago, we spent 3 or 4 days at Casa Arnel, a Lonely Planet budget/backpackers' favourite for years. 15 or 20 minute walk to the zocalos.
