Kids still aren't in school, though we keep seeing them taking group photos in front of the Museo. A shame they've missed so much time that really can never be made up. For the naturally inquisitive and others who like to read, not such a big problem, but for kids who are not motivated and who already find school difficult it could hinder them for life.

Only in Zihuatanejo can finding a land turtle wandering in a colonia popular be reason to call Protección Civil to come relocate it to some other habitat. Hopefully other turtles will reside nearby its new home and it won't have to spend the rest of its life looking for others of its kind. Sometimes I just can't believe how detached humans have allowed themselves to become from la naturaleza.

The city government says it's monitoring the excessive noise from bars and establishing order. I wish them luck, but I think I speak for most residents when I say I'm skeptical and have yet to really see any evidence of the enforcement of noise pollution laws, and of course because it's noise POLLUTION it's up to the Ecología office to take care of it. Not the police, as it should be. The police say they can't do anything about noisy bars. Noise pollution laws are like so many of our laws that appear made for and by criminals so that they are near impossible to enforce.

Please keep an eye on the weather. There's a storm that's been forming up for a while right off the coast of Oaxaca and southern Guerrero and it's apparently coming in our direction. The ground is starting to get saturated, and this is when landslides and flooding happen. At least the rivers are flowing again.

In the 80s, Emannuel sang my favorites: "Todo Se Derrumbó Dentro De Mí," "Quiero Dormir Cansado," "Tengo Mucho Que Aprender De Ti" and "Insoportablemente Bella."

Absolutely gorgeous Photo -- el Zihua de siempre.
