Hurricane Enrique didn't really cause us much rain until today, but it sure got windy last night. Of course the swimming event for the Triatlón was cancelled, but the biking and running events took place. It's been raining intermittently much of the afternoon and evening, some rains heavier than others.

Quite a few optimistic tourists seem to have decided they'd rather be here, hurricane and all, than wherever they live. I feel the same way. There's no place else I'd rather be. B-)

The tour guides tell them to come even when they know it could be dangerous for them. And of course when somebody drowns because of the high surf like the 70-something year old gentleman at Playa Linda the other day they blame the victim. Amazing irresponsibility by many tour guides trying to sell their services even during hurricane weather. What I call slimebag greedy.

I agree. The live webcams at Playa El Palmar currently show people in the ocean with a black flag flying. Little kids are in the water. WTF!
I fear another drowning.

I for one do appreciate your honesty.
Here in "Paradise" things aren't always "fresas con crema" as some would like us to believe.
