In case you weren't aware, part of the pier at Playa Linda collapsed, so folks have gone back to using the original pier at Playa Quieta to get to Isla Ixtapa, which should never have been changed to Playa Linda in the first place. But because political favors are more important than human safety, the government announced it was going to "rehabilitate" the Playa Linda pier, similar to what they did to the Zihuatanejo pier, except the Playa Linda pier is in much worse shape than the Zihuatanejo pier ever was. It is truly an embarrassment and a huge waste of the taxpayers' money that they would do this. Never mind the risk to the safety of the people who use the Playa Linda pier.

The local government recently posted messages on social media wanting folks to "adopt a tree". I responded reminding them that we had adopted several trees right in front of our home, but that they cut them down anyway. I wonder if I'll hear back from them?

Lots of pelicans on the beach awaiting generous fishermen. Lots of debris on the beach from the rains. Just a typical summer day.

There is a pier at Playa Quieta?
