I just saw a group of 5 set up their beach hangout with an umbrella in front of Catalina. I’m waiting to see if they get bothered by the powers that be.

Looked like in your photo that they had an umbrella and no chairs. PLEASE keep us posted!

We headed upstairs around 5. They were still there. I didn’t see anyone confront them. Several vendors showed them their wares.

It sounds like things might be changing!

Our big question is where the people with the umbrella accessed the beach. Unless you find a way to enter through a hotel, the Tourist Police refuse entrance to those with the "restricted" items.

It looked like they came from Paty’s but I can’t be sure. I didn’t see them until they were on the beach. In other news,2 small dogs were playing for a few minutes without incident

That seems to be easing up, or at least be OK later. We are off the beach before 7, but the Tourist Police aren't showing up until about 9, and until then, we are seeing dogs playing. So nice!

Maybe we can talk in the morning.

We haven't yet seen any "umbrella/chair police" at the La Ropa beach entrance between Paty's and Restaurant Tritón. We've been there a half dozen times, between 10 am and 3pm.

Has there been any kind of official presence? If not, we will be out there soon!

I haven’t seen any, but I haven’t been specifically looking for them either.

Won't see you on the beach this morning, we are having a rest day!

Haven't noticed anyone. What's needed is a "flash mob" of umbrella-toting, chair-toting, cooler-toting revolutionaries to defy authority.
We'll watch the fun from Paty's.

Excuse me? What's wrong with the SUPs and why do they bother you?
