Current COVID restrictions.

Just checking if this is currently in place.

NEW RESTRICTIONS FOR JAN 10-23: covid cases are increasing quickly and the Gobierno del Estado de Guerrero has announced new restrictions to begin immediately. At this time, they are mostly centered around capacity, limiting most places, including beaches, which still should be closed from 7pm to 6am; hotels, transportaion, most businesses and outdoor areas limited to 70%. Bars and restaurants must close by 1am; alcohol sales ending at 10pm. The entire lengthy order can be seen (in Spanish of course) at the official site of the gobierno, however, the link doesn't consistently work, so just try to google the Periódico Oficial del Gobierno del Estado de Guerrero.

Gee, that's the same thing I posted last night, but thanks. I'll take all the help I can get. B-)

The thing is, Rob, that people who don't know how you post this information can't easily find it. Respectively, it may be time to reconsider that.

Sorry, it’s pretty easy to find the information if you simply read the board. You really don’t even have to know the “ZIH” code to come across it. As you said to Rob, “respectfully” you’ve been here a week and have spent most of your time being critical. It could be you need more “time in grade” to appreciate what Rob provides.

I guess there is a fine line between being critical and being helpful. Not every one has the time or interest to read every post so the headings are important and I was simply suggesting a way to make them more so.

Gerry, it is not complicated to follow up on Rob's posting. All you need is not even 5 minutes a day checking the new daily posts and you will see his post with whatever heading. If that is too complicated, there is a larger issue here...

Are you sure you're Canadian? All you've done since you appeared here is complain, all with the goal of making it easier for you! Why don't you just keep quiet, pay attention and you might learn something!

Thanks for that, Timmac. The multiple posts with "suggestions" for Rob seem to indicate one individual's quest for a solution in search of a problem.

All anyone needs to do is use the FORUM SEARCH feature as I stress in the instructions at the top of the page.

And it has been suggested multiple times that the data he is seeking isn’t reliable and should really not be a basis for a go/no go decision making. Although all of us are concerned about Covid and weighing our personal risk tolerance in planning a return, he seems so concerned that should he decide to come,he might not be able to relax enough to enjoy it.

I stand by my initial assessment from 5 January.

"Respectfully, do you have any idea how entitled your post makes you appear?"

I signed up for this message board to learn more about Zihuatanejo and to offer some ideas and suggestions. I have done the former but it seems I have failed the latter.

I have participated in many such travel message boards and I find some members here to be overly sensitive, critical and rude. I have looked at my posts and I feel that many have been misinterpreted as I was only trying to get helpful information from you all and to be helpful in return.

Hadto look that up. ????. Can you explain Weiler's law "Nothing is impossible for a man who doesn't have to do it himself"? Is this law sarcastic?

Yes, it's sarcastic, or satirical would be the word I'd use. The exact quote is “Nothing is impossible for the man who does not have to do it himself”, which is a slightly different emphasis: the statement is made in contrast to the other man, the one who actually has to do the work.

The quote is really about how common it is to be naively optimistic, to be unaware of difficulties, and to lack compassion when issuing a directive to someone else. For instance, it's the hypocrisy of the millionaire trust fund baby telling the homeless person to just “get a job”, or it's the boss who unfairly blames his subordinates when they fail to meet an impossible deadline.

Gerry, you can go back a number of years on this board and you will find that the same cruel bullies are allowed to rule here.
