Guerrero's health authorities report 2 currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo.

Federal, state and local police have set up checkpoints at strategic locations around Zihuatanejo and are paying special attention to the colonias Cuauhtémoc, Linda Vista, Las Mesas, Romanceros, I.M.A., Vicente Guerrero, Las Salinas and La Noria. Apart from rumors, there apparently haven't been any more incidents. Our section of downtown seemed fairly normal today. A few businesses didn't open, but most did. I expect next week to be mostly normal barring any more torching of public transport or businesses. Hopefully the local government will install more security cameras and continue with the beefed up police patrols.

Today was another absolutely perfect day. Looked like it might rain early, but it never did. If you had to work it probably felt hot and humid, but just walking around it was quite comfortable. Cool enough to sleep under the sheets last night, and a little hot water felt good with this morning's shower. Still mild weather. Hillsides should start greening up this week from the past week's rains. And it looks like more rains are on the way. It still hasn't rained enough to muddy up the coastal or bay waters, so swimming hasn't been affected.

For folks looking to vacation in an extremely laid back stress-free atmosphere away from city noise and congestion, consider staying at one of the lovely lodgings at Barra de Potosí such as Hacienda La Rusa, Playa Potosí Resort or Villa Don Manuel. La Barra is a magical place that is about as laid back as it gets where several restaurants also have hammocks for their clients, and once you get in one it can get pretty hard to get back out. ;-)
