Locust?

I just caught a huge grasshopper in my house. Never seen one so huge! Is this a locust we read about which devastated crops?
Just like the ones in Lost World Dominion?????
Nothing yet this year, keeping our fingers crossed.
In prior years we have had one area that consistently had the large, green, orange winged lubber type grasshoppers in it. Really big. I like bugs, but these are almost scary!
