I'll be visiting Zihua for the first time for 2 weeks in early December, and very much looking forward to exploring the area, soaking up the warmth and waves, playing tennis and pickleball. Your website and forum are a terrific resource for someone who has never been to Zihua before. It was one of the deciding factors for choosing Zihua over other beach towns. Thanks for your work.
Odd question: Are there any organic farms near Zihua that I could volunteer/visit for a few hours?
Thanks in advance.

Check at the Saturday morning Eco-Tanguis market behind the Museo. I think you'll get some good leads there.

If you don't want to wait until you arrive in Zihua, you can contact these two vegan restaurants beforehand. They will most likely be able to point you in the right direction, if not give you the info you need right away.

Cooperativa Ecovegana de Zihuatanejo has a booth at the Saturday morning Eco-Tanguis market.

Thank you for the kind comments.

I know we have organic farming, but I'm not sure exactly where. There are café growers in the sierra, mango growers in Petatlán and Técpan, flor de jamaica growers all over the place, all known for using organic methods. I'm sure there are more. A relative who had a lovely organic farm near here passed away several years ago, and his farm was in Barrio Nuevo on the north side of Río Ixtapa. Not sure if it remains an organic farm but I hope so.
