Response from Dirección de Turismo Municipal

As per Rob's suggestion regarding writing to the authorities about the loud music coming from Casa Vieja I wrote to a few of them asking them to do something about the volume etc. To my surprise I received a reply from the Tourism Office yesterday telling me that they had forwarded my concerns to the owner of Casa Vieja and gave me his email address so that I could contact him directly.
I will be sending a further email to Sr. Alejandro Ruiz (owner of Casa Vieja) and would encourage anyone else who is concerned about the volume of the music from Vieja to contact him directly as well. If you would like his email address please email me and I will send it to you.
Maybe there is hope for us all to live together with respect and consideration.

That's certainly encouraging. I have certainly noticed that the assistant to the director at our city's tourism office (the person whom I believe replied to you) has certainly shown a real interest in doing the right thing to make our community a better place for visitors and locals alike. ;-)

Thanks to you Rob

You're right it was the assistant who responded and that does show some promise that the politicos in Zihua really do have the best interests of tourist, locals and ex-pats in mind as they try to make it the paradise I believe they want it to be.
Hopefully the business owners in Zihua also want the same for their city and business. By responding to concerns they certainly prove to be good corporate citizens and in return we can and will support their business.
Keep up the good work providing email addresses etc of who to contact with complaints, concerns and even accolades where warranted.
Many voices, polite voices, can make a big difference!
