Is it illegal to sell iguanas here? We thought they are "protected". Thanks for the info.

Iguanas are a Federally protected species here, but still a part of normal cuisine as well. As is the case with so many things here, what is and what REALLY is are worlds apart.

It is illegal to sell iguanas. The only exception is when the iguanas are from a certified iguana farm. If you find a restaurant or person selling iguanas chances are they are breaking the law and they should be reported to Profepa.
