Sadly Raphael has already closed his latest venture with Casa Elvira.
Says he is finished this time. A shame, such a nice man.

Yes...very sad! Miss him on Madera.
As restaurants close another opens...and it closes. A bad time here in Z.

When we were there for 3 weeks in December, it SEEMED quite busy....people everywhere, but the restaurants, for the most part, were next to empty. We certainly did our part with spreading the meals "out" around, but it's really crappy to see such great places closing due to lack of tourism.
I have never experienced as much grief from friends/family as I did this year when they found out we were going to Mexico.....I wish there was a "reality check" pill that people could take to numb the effects of the media on Mexican travel. We LOVE Zihua, and would not hesitate to go there as frequently as our budget and time dictate.
