My sister and I are about to make our annual pilgrimage to Zihua for ten days, yihaa cant wait. I am looking for a good textile store in town and also a store that has reasonable priced women's clothing, ie nice white guaze blouses etc. Also anybody know if a good silver shop where the prices ARENT more than in the United States. Getting a little tired of paying more than I would pay in my downtown silver shop for silver
. Any and all suggestions very much appreciated. Gracias! Kathy

You might try stopping by my wife's boutique. She carries some of the finest quality handmade cotton clothing in Mexico and her prices are quite reasonable. Also, she isn't a big chain store, just a local hardworking saint of a woman!

It's true, shameless or not. Here's a shot of our crew picking up a few things at Lupita's shop.

If your main concern about silver jewelery is it's price you are likely buying it from India, whether you purchase it in the U.S of Mexico. You should pay for the quality of the craftsmanship and the design. It is the labor that is the largest cost in silver jewelry and a good piece takes time.
I have always shopped for summer clothing in Zihua and area since I first visited 20 yers ago.
For fabric I only know of the Parisiana store downtown. In Zihua I shop at the adorable Lupita's boutique , the stores in the Marina complex next to the basketball court as well as very small open aired store almost at the end of the paseo del pescador past La Sirena Gorda on your right just before reaching the pier.
A short bus ride to Ixtapa to the Los Patios shopping area , you wil find 2 of my favorites stores for clothing and jewellery . La Fuente and MicMac boutique offers a great selection of that gauze cotton clothing that are so comfortable in the warm season.

Visit Roberto's shop Galleria Lupita on Calle Ejido - about a block in from Cinco de Mayo - and peruse his silver collection. You will enjoy it.
This is one of our regular stops. In addition to jewelry, the have lots of metallic wall art, many examples of which grace the walls of my wife's office.

I second that emotion. Mi tocayo is an old friend and he has always sold a quality product.
I will second that motion. Roberto has always treated me, family and friends in a friendly fashion ,no pressure tactics, fair price for quality silver. Also as mentioned very interesting distressed metal wall art and exquisite watercolors makes this place a regular stop even just to say hola!

Roberto has been a good friend from whom we have bought many items for almost 14 years. He used to have a stall in the mercado on cinco de mayo and we remember very well when he opened his own store not so many years ago. He is always fair. He adores my daughter and gives her great prices, he says, "because your mama is a wonderful lady and always sends me customers". If he doesn't have what you want, he knows where you can get it. Great shop- wonderful person.

Roberta is one of the finest people I know. About 18 years ago, I was looking at his pictures in his stall on Cinco De Mayo and I had put down a ceramic planter that I just purchased on a chair. The package slid down and fell and broke. Roberto took the planter and glued it back for me. I didn't know him then and didn't purchase anything from him at that time. I never forgot him and his kindness.
