Yo doy mis gracias todos los días por las maravillosas mujeres en este mundo, especialmente por mi esposa, mi mamá, mis hijas y mi nieta.

I believe you're a couple of months early but you can't go wrong expressing your sentiments to them at any time.

No, it's today, amigo. My wife is currently attending an event where she will receive a recognition for her "elegance".

I believe you're thinking of Mother's Day in May.

This is the 100th Anniversary of International Women's Day, which celebrated world-wide and is a recognized holiday in a number of countries. It doesn't appear to be well known in the USA and Canada.

Sorry Joanie but it is fairly well known in Canada as it has been heavily promoted by unions across the country and lots of events are planned today all over Canada to celebrate it.But in the USA,that's another story unfortunately!

Ya, I'm surprised Hallmark hasn't jumped all over it here.

It is also Shrove Tuesday ... or Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras if you prefer.
