Looking for Indigenous Films

Any Indigenous films and/or film makers out there? Looking for films to submit to a small relatively unknown film festival. Amateurs & youth productions welcome, shorts, longs, animation, documentary....sky's the limit. I'll welcome any suggestions you all can make. Thanks.

There was a terrific movie that came out in 2007 called "Eréndira Ikikunari" (Eréndira, La Indomable), and the main character was a played by a local Zihuatanejo girl. It is filmed in Michoacán and is about the Purépecha people and the arrival of the Spanish Conquistadores. It is spoken entirely in Purépecha with Spanish subtitles except where the Spaniards have a few lines (I don't know if there is a version with English subtitles).

Wow, Rob! The trailer really looks good. The Cowichan Aboriginal Film Festival is April 13 - 17 this year, but will certainly check that out for next year. All films are considered, long, short, animated, etc. Special consideration for films by/for/about indigenous youth. We have the priviledge of seeing films from around the world. Anybody who may be in the area might like to attend. Info available aff.cowichan.net
